A.S. Diploma

Today I received my diploma from CSN finally. I didn’t attend the commencement. I didn’t think I would be that excited at all.

However, when I saw the diploma in the hard cardboard, I felt so excited and really enjoyed the moment I held it tight in my hands and walked back to my room. Although It’s just an A.S. diploma, it wasn’t that easy.

I went through probation, re-instatement, retaking courses, met my love one, encouragement, and finally struggled with the minimum GPA to enter UNLV. It should’ve been easy though, but I didn’t seize the chance to work hard before. That’s why I had to struggle.

2.6x GPA doesn’t make me proud. What I’m proud of is all that I’ve been through.

I’ll always remember every details of my life since 2006. Thank my family and everyone who cared about me in the past years.

I’m studying hard now. The B.S. diploma is coming soon. =]

Assembly Language (MIPS)

Self-learning the software/hardware interface right now. I’ve learned MIPS last year summer and now I need to learn it again, because I forgot the instructions. I used to remember all the 32 registers and could use them correctly, knew how to read/write a file, display graphics (lines & dots) and very limited mouse driver.

I forgot MOST of them in just one year! Geez!

I’m reading Computer Organization and Design: Hardware / Software Interface that was written mainly by a professor of UC-Berkeley. The book is very clearly written and is really great for newbies because it teaches you from scratch! Yes, I’m reading it like a newbie.

I’ve set a goal: to finish the whole book before 6th July. Not just skim through it quickly, but read it in depth and really LEARN it.

Because You’re Happy

I can’t be happy if I see her cry, angry, tired, sad, hurt… so if she decided to leave, it is her choice for happiness. I shouldn’t make her sad. I should be happy, because she felt happier to be leaving me.

I read a passage, said I should be the one whom the fault goes to.

- “沒有人會逃避幸褔”

I believe so, and that’s why she choose to left me. Because I didn’t gave her enough. I’m so regret now. It’s all my faults…

I could’ve done much better. But I will be better. I will let you see it. I will be a better man for you.

Permanent Residency

It’s hard to believe that more than 1 million of newly granted permanent residents move to US every year. Man, it’s ONE million! It’s hard to imagine how these new residents settle down in different states. The number is so significant that I believe it’s easy to be recognized when a state become crowded in a year.

In California, the common place for new residents, has 238,444 person settled down in 2008. Just one year, we got more than 2 hundred thousands of people moving in. Still unbelievable.

I believe “someday” the DV lottery will be stopped by Congress. How about the asylum?

I Confused God

I told the god so many times that “I need more time” (The last post, etc). Yet, I remember I told the god something opposite too, “Can time runs faster”.

It’s really confusing, I understand that. But when it comes to longing the graduation date and seeing my love one, I so damn want to leap hella fast, like tomorrow is 2010. When it comes to study, oh I wish I have more time on that.

I don’t seem to learn a lot out from UNLV. I just finished Data Structure, probably that’s the reason? I’m not sure. I learned that most positions in the market require 2 or more programming languages, SQL, web service, scripting etc.. I don’t see I will be learning all those in UNLV. So what I’m doing right now is to self-study all of them on my leisure time. I really hope it helps.

Sorry god, just want to ask if you can control time dynamically. HAHAHAHHA

I Need More Time

Yes, I need more time. I stopped learning Objective-C for a week and Java for a month. Have to study probability and statistics now, loads of homework and quizzes.

Yet these are just another excuses for me. Why? I “complained” that I need more time. However, I didn’t spend all of my time on study probability. So, I got time actually but I’ve wasted it.

It’s time to learn how to utilize time more efficiently. It sounds silly tho, ‘cuz I’ve never in succeed…

Respect, Please!

How many times have I complained about this issue? Every time I heard of those dirty words from someONE I was so pissed off. First, dirty word isn’t necessary. Second, don’t use that word on families.

What is respect? It’s the most basic element that keeps relationship healthy.

I started to worry about him. No one “really” respect him, even me — now. I am the one who should at least give him respect when no one else does. He never knows why I don’t want to, ‘cuz he never opens his mind. Banned complaints, yet complain others. That’s not the way of being a man. Take my word for it. (I’m sure he won’t)

「屌你」, this word is real nasty. I remember I told myself, one more time and I’m done with him. Won’t give a shit of what he did. I give him one more chance now. Because I still respect him some way. I think this is the last chance. Sorry.

Runnin’ Outta Time

Next week Monday will be my first day of school (officially) as UNLV admitted undergrad. Classes for two hours daily from Monday to Friday. Will have loads of assignments for sure. So, I’m running out of time of learning and developing my ideas into an iPhone app.

After two weeks of study in Objective-C and iPhone developing patterns, feel comfortable to move on and stopped complaining about the language features. Xcode+IB is fairly easy to use. But I want more time on it! I wish to have my own app(s) published to the App Store before September ‘cuz I will be freaking busy after that.

Honestly I want my ideas turn into apps hence generating me “some” money. Who (developers) doesn’t wish that?

Going Well

Finally I’m feeling comfortable with Objective-C feature, for example the [message] syntax and the concept of everything-is-an-object. So now I can write a very simple iPhone app for example calculator or something that is on one screen, without any animation and network protocol stuff.

C++ is still my best choice on programming language, but Objective-C is not bad at all now. =P Ignore my previous post . hahaha I haven’t program’ed any GUI stuff and iPhone development is my very first time. I like the concept of MVC – Model, View, Controller. Interface Builder makes it even easier. Wow now everyone can develop in iPhone now LOL.

I’ve read some comments from “someone” on the internet, saying that they are waiting for an evolutionary new concept of programming that is extremely easy to learn and to implement. They said it’s like modern OOP replacing traditional procedural language and even the assembly languages. Well, assembly language to me is sort of low level and am sure no one would like to dive into it for their life time (except extreme geek). OOP is great, and I think it’s easy enough. Yeah everyone would want to program without design, hard codes and time-consume debugging. BUT, I like to stay as it. ‘Cause if programming became easy, programmers or coder/designer related jobs would be cheap. I don’t want myself to be like that. It’s like the price war of Chinese Buffet in US that makes Chinese Buffet hella cheap! (what? $4.99 all-u-can-eat?)

I will be learning how to draw pixel and do the animation on iPhone in these few days. Really hope to have an app generating me money. I want money to buy car. For her. =]
